St Augustine's Church, Snave Church

A very simple church comprising nave, chancel and north chapel. Like many of the neighbouring churches it is beautifully whitewashed throughout, which enhances its simplicity. The encaustic tiles in the chancel, added by the Victorian restorers, are rather out of place, but the visitor would be advised to look up to appreciate the nave roof, where three sturdy tie-beams support three graceful crownposts. The best time to visit this atmospheric church is when the daffodils are in bloom and the lambs are appearing on the surrounding marshes.
